Since its founding in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has established itself as a leading public service organization dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by the Black community and, by extension, all communities worldwide. Over the years, the sorority has developed a broad spectrum of programs focused on education, health, global development, and the empowerment of Black families. In fulfilling our mission, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. delivers a diverse range of initiatives through our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust.

Since our chartering in April 2023, The United Kingdom Alumnae Chapter has been working hard to fulfill our mission. Here is just a sample of how we are making a difference:

Woodberry Aid Foodbank
In partnership with a local food bank, we tackle food insecurity in East London by providing nutritious, culturally relevant meals to vulnerable individuals and families.

World AIDS Day Awareness Event
We organized a panel discussion in Brixton with NHS doctors and community leaders to engage over 80 participants in meaningful conversations about HIV/AIDS awareness and collaborative solutions.

Christmas Hampers with Brixton Soup Kitchen
To spread joy during the holiday season, we delivered Christmas Hampers filled with essential items to families in South London in collaboration with Brixton Soup Kitchen.

Black Women and Menopause Awareness
On International Women’s Day, we hosted an empowering event with Shades of Menopause, offering education and resources on menopause specifically for Black women. Attendees reported feeling more confident and informed about navigating this transition.

Online Mental Health Awareness Campaign
We launched an online campaign to address mental health disparities in Black communities, providing practical tips for initiating conversations and promoting stress relief through movement.

Delta Academy
In September 2024, we began our Delta Academy with the aim of empowering young Black girls to be leaders in their future endeavors.
